August 3, 2014 = ONE MONTH!
Weight: 9 pounds, 8.5 ounces
Height: 21.5 inches
(He was upset because he had just been trying hard
to eat everything he laid his eyes on.)
I cannot believe a full month has already come and gone. I am going to need time to slow down. Way down.
Food: Brysen eats like it is going out of style. Every. Single. Time. We feed him, burp him, then pretty much turn around and feed him again. He rarely ever makes it a full 3 hours between feedings if he's awake. Most of the time he doesn't even make it a full 2 hours. He nurses well AND takes 2-4 ounces of formula just about every time he eats, but the doctor said everything's good and to not change a thing, so that's what we'll do!
Sleep: Still napping good throughout the day. He's usually asleep for the night anytime between 9:00 and 11:00 and then he wakes up to eat sometime between 2:00 and 3:00. After eating, he is back out until anywhere between 7:00 and 9:00. He's such a good sleeper! He spent the night in his own room just after turning 2 weeks old. He sometimes ends up in our room after he wakes up for his feeding, though. :)
Clothes: Some newborn, some 0-3 months, and even some 3 months. Everything fits so differently. He could fit some of his 3 months clothes before ever filling in quite a few newborn outfits.
Health: Aside from having a snuffy nose, he's had a healthy first month. He hiccups a lot and sneezes some, too... but that's normal! ;)
Likes: Cuddling, sucking on his hands, being on his belly, being swaddled at night time, being able to look around, being talked to, riding in the car, being out and about, eating, eating, and MORE eating!
Dislikes: He doesn't like being hungry or gassy, he'd rather be naked than to get dressed, and he doesn't like when diaper changes take too long. He HATES when he's sleepy and his hands get to moving and they accidentally end up holding a big chunk of his hair.
He has become SO much more alert these past few days. When he sleeps, he really sleeps -- but when he is awake, he is really awake. He likes to study peoples' faces when they hold him. So sweet.
He's also recently realized why those arms are there. His play mat is much more interesting now. ;)
